Greater Harrisburg Area NAACP, Greater Harrisburg Area Lenten Fellowship, and First Zion Baptist Church of Edgemont want to reach homeless Veterans, individuals, and/or families that will be transitioning to housing and provide them with a home starter kit. In 2022, the Greater Harrisburg Area NAACP and West Shore Elks of Mechanicsburg, gave over 35 bins to veterans moving into housing. We want to continue this initiative this year. Please consider providing any one or more of the items listed below.
Donations will be accepted on Wednesdays beginning on February 22, 2023, between 7 pm to 8 pm during Lenten Season at First Zion Baptist Church, 1500 Edgemont Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109. Or during our monthly NAACP meetings in February and March from 7 pm to 8 pm held at the AFSCME 150 S 43rd St, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
Our goal is to identify 25 individuals to deliver them to by Good Friday. Volunteers to put the bins together are greatly appreciated, and volunteers to deliver them to the assigned individuals, shelters, and/or VA in Lebanon. We need to purchase 25-gallon plastic bins to store a set of these items in each bin.
Volunteers are needed on April 3rd or 4th to pack individual home starter kits.

1 face towel
2 wash rags
1 dual pack of paper towels
2 toilet paper rolls
1 pack of dish sponges
3 qt bottle of bleach
2 packs reusable cloth wipes
1 tooth brush
1 tooth paste
1 deodorant
1 dish detergent (Dawn)
1 clear shower curtain
2 bars of soap
1 toilet brush cleaner
1 150 oz. detergent
1 bottle spic and span
1 bottle of multi surface cleaner
1 window cleaner
