On Saturday, October 12, 2024, the NAACP Greater Harrisburg Branch will host its 70th Platinum Jubilee Annual Freedom Fund Dinner at the AFSCME Conference Center, 150 S. 43rd Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111. The reception begins for this semi-formal event at 5 p.m., and the dinner & program will start at 5:45 p.m. (a cash bar will be available). This year’s keynote speaker is State Representative Justin Fleming. We are incredibly excited to have a variety of entertainment, including ACT-SO Students.
The Freedom Fund Dinner is our only significant event for the year; therefore, we are encouraging our past, present, and new supporters to be sponsors for this momentous occasion. Organizations, businesses, and individuals can support our Annual Freedom Fund Dinner and the mission of the NAACP in several ways. As you may know, the NAACP is our nation’s oldest Civil Rights organization. Our mission is to achieve equity, political rights, and social inclusion by advancing policies and practices that expand human and civil rights, eliminate discrimination, and accelerate the well-being, education, and economic security of black people and all persons of color.
Our future as an organization and how we carry out our advocacy mission for the Greater Harrisburg area’s citizens are crucial to the fight for Social Justice and Civil Rights. The theme for this year is “70 Years of Culture, Community, and Power”. The goal of the NAACP Greater Harrisburg Branch is to deepen partnerships with the faith-based community, law enforcement, and local citizens to enrich our communities.
